Live Virtual NHS Healthcare Careers Work Experience Programme
13 of our year 10 students expressed an interest in a virtual work experience programme in addition to our main work experience which will commence in July.
The programme covered Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedicine, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Radiography, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Speech and language therapy and Pharmacy.
Students followed 2 patients from their initial presentation to recovery. Students observed the healthcare professionals as they interacted with the patients and each other. This experience helped our students to make informed career decisions, as well as learn about how healthcare professionals work together as part of a multidisciplinary team. Each work experience day is completely different, and students are able to build on their knowledge of NHS careers as they see different patient cases and healthcare professionals.
Livia L in year 10, said “Teamwork might not be the first thing we think of while thinking about roles of medical professionals as it’s quite an independent job compared to some others, but on the course the patient got the best treatment because of the communication amongst her doctors which really shows us the importance of teamwork.”
At Bramhall High we are so proud of our students giving up their free time to learn new skills and be part of such a rewarding experience.
The students that put themselves forward for this experience were Seada A, Fatima A, Lily B, Iman C,, Evie M, Nathaniel H, Amani H, Masnady H, Zannat A, Livia L, Akina L, Thomas M and Katerina N.
